Poetry for Those Who Don't Get It (and welcome for those who do!)
Instructor: Patricia MacDonald
$20/4 weeks
Session 1: Oct. 6-Oct. 27
Session 2: Nov. 3-Dec. 1 (no class during Thanksgiving week)

The way we have been taught to read poetry is the very thing that prevents us from enjoying it. - Matthew Zapruder; Sound familiar? So why does this happen? Poetry is often presented as an intellectual endeavor rather than as an exploration of new emotional awareness. The best poetry always speaks to the heart in a language often beyond rational analysis. How does such poetry make you feel? As one poet said, as though you've been punched in the solar plexus. Break through your past negative experiences with poetry; if you aren't emotionally touched by at least one poem at the end of the program, a full refund will be given!
